How to design the life you want
If you had no limitations at all in your life, that is to say, money, background, education, skin color, gender, skills, talents, where you live, heritage, etc were not excuses you would come up with as to why you are not where you want to be in life, and you didnt have to give answers just to sound spiritual,
1. How would you want to be remembered when your days here on earth were completed?
2. What would you wake up to do everyday? In other words, how would you spend your time?
3. How much money would you want to see in your back account? Why and what would you use it for?
4. Where would you live and why?
5. What kind of people would you associate with and why?
6. How would your look on life be different? Why?
7. What would you own and why?
8. What kind of person would you be married to? Why?
9. How many children would you have?
10. What kind of events wouldn’t you miss attending?
My brothers and sisters, I’m convinced that not only do we limit ourselves but we also limit God in our lives. Most of us have grown up thinking that the reason we are not who we want to be or we don’t have what we want to have is because of __________ (fill in the blank.)
When God created man/woman, He created him complete, with the ability to have dominion, be fruitful and multiply on the earth. If you don’t believe it, just look at what other men and women you admire are, or what they have. Even when we messed up, God did all he could to put us back in that place of full potential. We really have no excuse but the one we choose to come up with.
All that you ever want to be or have is already embedded on the inside of you. All you have to do is learn how to access it and manifest it on the outside. The way to do this is to change your beliefs. Your beliefs are changed by changing your thoughts. The word of God tells us that the way we are transformed is by renewing our mind. (Romans 12:2).
Our mind is the faculty where we process our thoughts. To renew your mind, you think on new thoughts. “RE-NEW”. If you are not where you want to be in life, it’s because you are thinking on the wrong things. Start thinking on the things you want in life. Paul said, “… fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8 NLT version). We must learn how to focus on true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worth of praise thoughts.
Instead of always thinking of your problems, think of the solutions, instead of thinking in terms of what you can’t do, think in terms of what you can do, instead of thinking of what you don’t have, think of what you have. Start to see your self the way you want to be. Picture yourself having all you want, in the places you want to be, the kind of relationships you want to have and act as if you are already who you want to be. Start with the questions above to kind of get a clue on how to start designing the life you want.
Some will read this and fail to take action, while others will realize the need to change. People that don’t take action will continue to complain and come up with excuses why their lives are a mess. Don’t be part of that group my friend. You are responsible for the out come of your life. God has given you all you need in life and it is up to you on how you apply yourself and use the resources He has given you. With God on your side, there is nothing you can not accomplish. His will is that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)
Stay blessed and keep the faith!
